Our members are former Buc football Players, ETSU band members, ETSU Alumni, ETSU staff and faculty. Our members are also football fans from all walks of life. We are dedicated to the Buccaneer Football program. Our mission is to offer financial support to East Tennessee State University's football program for scholarships, equipment, facilities, etc. We believe, as does the National Football Foundation andCollege Hall of Fame, Inc., that collegiate football develops not only competitive spirit and sportsmanship, but also such qualities as academic excellence and leadership. The Greater Tri-Cities Area is a proud, historic region with an optimistic future. Buc Football has been an honored part of our heritage. Why should our regional university not compete in all major sports with other equivalent universities? The value of the unity and spirit of college football enhances the total life experience for all students and alumni. Buc Football and Friends Foundation is incorporated and is operated by an elected Board of Directors. We have announced meetings open to all members. East Tennessee State University is the "regional institution of choice." Similar interests that led to ETSU's new medical school and pharmacy school now exist to create a competitive regional sports program. A centrally located and multipurpose stadium can serve Buc Football as well as amateur and high school sports, collegiate events, and civic and professional activities. The Foundation will initiate scholarship funding for individuals who are athletic trainers, football players, cheer leaders and band members. Local chapters of Buc Football and Friends will be established in all possible locations in the Greater Tri-Cities area and throughout the nation. Local chapters will show the strength of Buc Football and provide all fans with a means to become actively involved in the restoration of Buc Football. By becoming a member of Buc Football and Friends, you will be part of the crusade to restore Buc Football. Other ways to help include participating in the annual golf tournament, donating items to be sold in the annual auction, volunteering, and recruiting new members.   Buc Football & Friends Foundation, Inc.
